Summary

Lead the identification, research, design, development and deployment of new products and tools for the Backoffice/Operations team. Define product for Operations as the primary customer but additionally collaborate with Sales, Operations, Marketing, Enterprise Product Development and Technology in the identification, research, design, development and deployment of new products.  Manage the product portfolio.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement and lead an effective product development AGILE/KANBAN process with a focus on and execution of feature-based releases and customer-focused experience.
  • Lead five product development teams across two internal Operations teams, including release planning.
  • Develop, implement and lead a quarterly product planning, including recurring reviews the performance of each product and develop strategies to improve the performance.  Ensure teams are delivering on commitments and scope.
  • Drive the implementation of product strategies to achieve the growth goals for the Backoffice.
  • Maintain an accurate roadmap for all Backoffice workstreams.
  • Know and understand how Operations use each product and optimize for efficiency and productivity. 
  • Communicate products strategies and changes throughout the Backoffice.
  • Contribute to the Leadership Team in setting priorities, performance standards and overall leadership

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree from a Four (4) year College or University; or 10+ years related experience in Product Management/Development.
  • Plus, 5+ years Mortgage Banking and Leadership experience
  • Expert knowledge of software products and tools
  • Working knowledge of sales, operations, marketing, and secondary
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills including collaboration
  • Decision making within given authority
  • Well organized with strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Conceptual thinking skills to work on the immediate issues as well as build for the future
  • Travel as needed up to one week per month

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as requirements documents, tech specs, sw architecture, product roadmaps. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to think critically, identify and understand problems, shape viable options to solve and provide a recommendation.  

 

Customer Service Relationships:

Assesses and diffuses problem situations and requires influencing others to reach consensus. Requires tact and diplomacy to handle difficult customer relationships. Explores alternatives and creative solutions to meeting the needs of customers.

Work Complexity:

Tasks are multiple and diverse with some interrelationship across processes. Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents.
