Technical Writer for Mortgage Servicing role is responsible for creating and writing new procedures and/or job aids related to Mortgage Servicing Operations.  This role will also require the candidate to have the ability to create and design process maps and/or workflows, including, documenting control steps within a procedure.  This role works with the business to ensure process steps/actions are documented accurately.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work with business leads, as well as with other stakeholders across servicing to ensure all procedures and workflows are up to date
  • Create new or revise existing procedures and workflows relating to any line of business process changes, regulatory/agency requirements, as applicable
  • Ensure procedures are audit ready and comply with legal requirements


  • Must possess excellent procedural technical writing skills
  • Must possess ability to create process maps/workflows utilizing Visio
  • Some understanding of control statements
  • Some understanding of Mortgage Servicing 
  • Effective communication skills that result in a collaborative environment.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workflow

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University; or six (3) to eight (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must be confident and reliable
  • Should be consistent and display a high level of accuracy
  • Mortgage Servicing experience               


Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
