Sr IT Business Analyst – (Lakewood POD Run the Engine)

Under general supervision, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing logic as necessary. Competent to work in some phases of systems analysis and considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supports assigned business unit, including requirements gathering, project management for new development and integration projects and Business as Usual support with little or no direction.
  • Demonstrates detailed, in-depth and expert knowledge of the assigned business processes.
  • Interfaces with business units to define business and functional requirements.
  • Plays a key role in educating the Business and IT community on the applications, evaluates the proposed solutions with the business partner for acceptance.
  • Defines requirements for testing and assesses the impact of implementing the proposed solution.
  • Works with the developers, System Analysts, QA and Operations to review requirements and provide leadership through the development cycle.
  • Attend/setup all project related meetings such as Agile Ceremonies, Requirement Gathering etc.
  • Act as “Functional Architect” for the new project/product.
  • Support the PO/team with Ad hoc Bug Triage and Research, Functional Testing, Change Management and DDO Process.
  • Product Owner support/backup (As Needed).   
  • Serves as a technology leader for assigned business functions and advises business partners accordingly.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University preferred.
  • Business analysis and project management skills are required.
  • 5+ years of diverse financial services / mortgage servicing experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate independent decision making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools required.
  • Excellent requirements collection and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communications, planning, collaboration and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands on experience in Agile Methodology.
  • Lakewood experience is plus.
  • Experience in Agile tools such as JIRA/Confluence is plus
