Summary

This position can be located in NJ or may be remote. In this dynamic and highly visible role you will serve as the primary HR leader for the assigned business units and work with the HR team to ensure alignment of business and HR strategies, service and delivery. Through strong customer relationship management and consultative services, you will provide subject matter expertise in the business unit’s strategic planning process and execution of Human Resources strategies that position the team for success. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for improvement and to resolve all HR problems in a manner that is consistent with Freedom’s policies, procedures and culture.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides expert human resources consultation and support to a designated business unit.

  • Fields reports of Employee Relations concerns, investigates and documents findings.  Determines appropriate action to take an ensures follow through on decisions.

  • Consults with business unit management in the strategic planning process and development of human resources strategies that support the unit's business needs.

  • Develops and implements HR strategies to support business strategy, including hiring plans, integration, compensation, employee engagement, etc.

  • Identifies, pursues and hires prospects, on-boarding, acclimating them to Freedom’s policies and culture and provides ongoing coaching for success.

  • Collaborates internally and externally to solve human resources problems and direct solutions.

  • Advises and facilitates legal proceedings and employment issues as appropriate.

  • Leads change management strategies and mentor employees.

  • Uses knowledge of various human resources functions, including staffing, compensation, benefits, training and employee relations to provide tactical HR support to line managers.

  • Acts as a liaison to other human resources functions when necessary.

  • May lead and direct the work of others.

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Metrics: Onboarding and integration of new hires streamlined, Successful growth of business unit roles, Business unit retention, Employee relations, complaints dropping, Incentive plans streamlined (if applicable), change management for termination switching roles, Employee morale increased.

  • Travel required up to 25%, may vary based on business unit and conditions. HR Policies, Standards and Procedures.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use the organization’s and industry's standards, procedures and policies relevant to human resources management.

  • HR Legal and Regulatory Environment: Knowledge of federal, state and local laws and ability to advise on laws and regulations affecting HR practices.

  • HR Consulting: Knowledge of HR approaches, tools and techniques; ability to inform, guide and advise managers in HR- related initiatives.

  • HR Operations: Knowledge of and ability to implement HR related tasks, processes, and projects to ensure smooth daily HR operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages staff and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.



Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university or
ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Previous experience in Human Resources Management,
communication skills, negotiation skills, project management and change
management skills. Strong business acumen, analytical/problem solving ability, time
management and prioritization skills. Knowledge of current labor laws.
