The Snowflake Database Administrator will be responsible for proactively administering Snowflake environments across the Freedom enterprise, which includes implementation, performance tuning, ongoing maintenance, backup/recovery, security, and providing project support. The
Database Administrator is primarily concerned with managing relational database management system running in a 24 x 7 environment.

This person’s efforts will include:

  • Creation and maintenance of warehouses, databases, roles and users
  • Manage and properly size virtual warehouses
  • Proactively monitor environment(s)
  • Ensure proper security protocols across all environment(s)
  • Provide support to development, data modeling and reporting teams
  • Coordination with project teams, DBAs, various other department resources
  • Prepares project scope document, project plan and issues log for the implementation of a new database or complex enhancement to an existing database.
  • Develops and implements test plans that are comprehensive and inclusive of the problem to be resolved.  Plans should include testing logic to produce successful and failed outcomes
  • Consult on technical solutions that include design, high availability, data models and schema objects
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must have hands on experience with user management, role-based access, and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Must have experience with virtual warehouses and sizing
  • Must have experience with SnowSQL and SnowPipe
  • Understanding of Snowflake specific data types
  • Experience optimizing the data load processes
  • Amazon Cloud (AWS) experience recommended
  • Must have experience with backup and recovery
  • Performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Data Warehousing experience a plus
  • Must have experience supporting and working in Oracle environments
  • Must be able to work within company Database and Change Management procedures and standards
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
  • Participating in an on-call rotation
  • Adherence to financial industry compliance for database security configuration
