Description

The Product Owner is responsible for supporting the Product Owner (VP) in the development and implementation of the Consumer Self-Serve product’s technology strategy.  Will work closely with business leadership to identify desired features and functionality, as well as opportunities for improvement.  This role will foster effective cross-team collaboration to enable efficient delivery of product enhancements with the goal of improving the overall customer experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Determines and articulates Minimum Viable Product; that is, identifies those portions of an overall vision that are minimally necessary to achieve company objectives
  • Creates, maintains, and prioritizes an Agile team’s work backlog by assessing business and customer value
  • Collaborates with other Product Owners to manage inter-team dependencies
  • Focuses on outcomes, sets clear success criteria
  • Challenges status quo to find new solutions and drive out of the box ideas
  • Possesses excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights
  • Elicits customer feedback pre-, during and post-product build
  • Develops a comprehensive point of view on industry trends and the broader market and competitive landscape.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business associates
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Collaborates with wider team on project milestones and provides organizational management and stakeholder with relevant updates

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University; five (5) years related experience and/or training of equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Extensive knowledge of both business and IT processes, Freedom Mortgage experience preferred
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize initiatives, foster collaboration between departments and drive initiatives to completion through accountability
  • Understands organizational structure to influence and obtain agreement from stakeholders; Knows who/where to pursue information within the organization and applies towards removing team obstacles
  • Strong professional development skills such as oral and written communications, personal credibility
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Previous experience in Mortgage Banking and/or associated lines of business is highly preferred 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
