The Payroll Analyst is responsible for providing research, administration and analysis support to Payroll Operations. The Payroll Analyst will support all aspects of enterprise payroll(s) administration as well as interface with other functional areas (i.e. health and welfare, 401k, etc.). Supports Payroll Operations and third-party administrators to help ensure payroll procedures are current and in compliance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for gathering, computing, auditing, and disbursing, wages, deductions, taxes, and other withholdings
  • Balancing payroll time record interfaces, making changes to time records, and entry to other payroll-related data in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Provides customer support through Service Now (SNow), email, or in writing (fax or mail).
  • Preparing routing reports and or/payments to government agencies, insurance companies, vendors, and others.
  • Provide support in funding reconciliations, payroll audits, quarterly processing, and regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Create, Analyze, Modify, and Audit excel spreadsheets by combining data from multiple sources and reporting systems.
  • Processing of multi-state bi-weekly payroll
  • Provide bi-weekly payroll information and GL reports to accounting timely.
  • Assist the Payroll Team whenever needed.
  • Ability to understand and use various IRS tax publications to help Payroll Operations assure ongoing compliance.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job functions and works under immediate supervision.
  • Perform research and analysis and be able to extract and interpret data from various sources.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Import and balance time records
  • Gather, review, and enter payroll changes from affiliates
  • Ensure timely & accurate review/processing of employee changes
  • Balance payroll interfaces and process-related payments
  • Provide customers support to employees, HR, and other interested parties through SNow, email, and in writing (fax or mail).
  • Complete other payroll processes such as manual payments, garnishments, ACH activities, etc.
  • Stay current on changes to payroll and garnishments procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure work is done in accordance with the guidelines set for the department
  • Assist management with special projects such as year-end activities as needed.
  • Inform management of potentially significant problems and personnel-related issues.
  • Experience working with Workday payroll.

Education and Experience:
Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical school; and one (1) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos, and workplace policies. Ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write professional correspondences. Ability to write routine business reports. Ability to speak effectively with other employees and/or customers. Ability to present formal information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, customers, and/or the general public.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
