SUMMARY

The Secondary Marketing Specialist responsibilities include understanding loan programs, rate sheets and pricing/lock policies for multiple business divisions. There will be constant interaction, both verbal and written, with business divisions regarding changes to lock requests, loan programs, rate sheet pricing, and spread income. Utilizing databases and loan data retrieval is necessary. Individual must be able to learn a process and suggest enhancements for improvement. Ad hoc analysis may be required along with thorough documentation of procedures and relevant loan level research. Individual will receive exposure to all aspects of the mortgage industry and training specifically in the secondary mortgage market.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Under general supervision:

  • Posting and reviewing rate sheets for accuracy, daily and intraday
  • Accurately and efficiently entering loan information required for locking, relocking, modifying and extending mortgage commitments, as well as, verifying pricing on all lock requests and confirmations
  • Monitoring channel specific inboxes and completing requests in a timely fashion
  • Ability to create, analyze, and distribute in depth reports pertaining to Mortgage Banking
  • Review and resolve discrepancies, renegotiation requests, and all Lock Desk requests
  • Ability to offer support verbally and through email to AEs, divisional lock desks, LOs, SAs, and senior level management
  • Test all loan level adjusters, pricing, and any impending rate sheet changes; while working closely with other departments

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 1+ years mortgage industry is necessary. Prior Secondary Market experience is highly preferred. Proficiency with MS Excel is mandatory. Experience with MS Access is a plus. Individual must be analytical and detail oriented. Previous experience working in Encompass is preferred, but not required. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Mathematics from four-year College or university is preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Strong mathematical skills with numbers and % as well as analytical and problem solving skills).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as product guidelines, rate sheets, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract basis points as it relates to loan pricing

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
