Summary

Coordinates the operational and personnel development within this department in operations.  Serves as an escalation to help solve system and process issues that arise in the department.  Assists in training and utilizing online system processes to effectively manage the work load to meet or exceed established service levels.  Ensures all staff is properly trained in all areas of the loan process and related applications.

 

Responsible for being a subject matter expert and providing guidance on the processing of contracts and loan applications. This position is responsible for maintaining efficiency within the verification of employment and IL Pred request . Based on these assessments, the Team Lead will ensure all verification of employments request are resolved in order to not delay the scheduled closing. We seek individuals with Conv/FHA/VA loan experience.

 

Responsible for the training of new employees coming into this position as well as taking on critical issues/problems associated with this position

 

Essential Job Functions :

  • Assists with managing and training a department of staff members
  • Monitors file flow to ensure SLA's are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Ensures loans are originated and closed in compliance with the underwriter's approval as well as all federal and state regulations.
  • Answers questions staff may have
  • Monitors daily, weekly and monthly production reports
  • Works with Operations manager on the day to day operations of the department. Including but not limited to distributing work, reviewing pipelines, and job coaching
  • Performs Phone Monitoring of new employees and provides written feedback
  • Performs sporadic QC spot checks on individual pipelines and provides feedback to staff
  • Coordinates weekly pipeline review sessions with each employee

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience :

Minimum bachelor’s degree and/or 4 years’ experience in a mortgage processing environment required.  An additional 2 years related working experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree acceptable.   Working knowledge of compliance regulations required.  Full understanding of Product Types (Conventional, FHA, VA).   Ability to work overtime and extensive hours during high volume.  Must have ability to recognize and act on changing priorities.  Working knowledge of MS Office and strong organizational skills required.

 

 

Language Skills :

Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy and procedure manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

 

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
