Summary

The Manager of Internal Communications supports the Vice President of Internal Communications and participates in multiple facets of the organization. The role would help the business in the creation, management and deployment of company communications ranging from events, compliance, security, facilities, leadership announcements as well as engagement activities and programs across multiple platforms.

Must have exceptional communications and writing skills, think strategically and creatively with a meticulous attention to detail, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines. 

Essential Job Functions may include:

  • Manage internal communications and message deployment for the organization.
  • Work with key internal role-players to execute company communications on an array of topics in line with the company’s strategy and support of various brand initiatives.
  • Produce high-quality, action-driven, error-free copy
  • Support and evaluate results of communication campaigns with the team, working closely with IT on analytics for email and intranet communications as well as intranet-based reward program, and SharePoint-driven rewards and Suggestion Box.  
  • Devises, designs, and edits communication for items such as memos, emails, fundraisers, contests, brochures, newsletters, and other internal publications.
  • Oversight of communications schedule and email traffic.
  • Manage Employee Reward and Recognition programs and communications.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


  Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A) from four-year College or University
  • Majors in English, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, HR or related field preferred but not required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Design capabilities
  • A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
  • Content writing experience for all media platforms.
  • Proven social media and networking expertise.
  • Strategic and creative mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, customers and/or the internal customer base
  • Motivated, hardworking and self-starter
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Possesses strong organization skills and can prioritize critical tasks
  • Individual is self-driven, highly motivated and results-oriented

 

Language Skills:

Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, and/or vendors.


Mathematical Skills:

Basic analytics.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Personal/Organizational:

Contact with employees and leadership. Some contact with others; including general public. May handle confidential information and some complex matters.

 

Customer Service Relationships:

The employees and leadership are our customers.

 

Work Complexity:

Tasks are multiple and diverse with processes – internet, email, presentations – with attention to detail and creative flair.
