The Director of Business Solutions will be a “Producing Manager” for the newly created Business Solutions Team.  The Business Solutions team will be responsible for not only the refinancing and restructuring of existing customers mortgages whose loans are unsaleable/marketable but also as level two support for customer escalations. The Director of Business Solutions needs to be verse in Capital markets, investor guidelines and the restructuring of residential mortgages.  He/She needs to be calm, helpful and able to articulate/communicate clearly the benefits that a restructured mortgage would offer the borrower.  He/She needs to be a strong leader who embodies these behaviors and demonstrates to these behaviors to the team. 

Essential Job Functions may include:

  • Licensed Loan Adviser (preferably in many states)
  • Proven ability to work with U/W a MUST
  • Strong working knowledge of Capital Markets is a MUST
  • Strong working knowledge of Investor guidelines, loan restructuring and refinancing is a MUST
  • Ability to work with senior leaders on a loan by loan basis is imperative
  • Needs to lead from the front, driving clear concise direction for other LA’s on the team and set goals/objectives for the team
  • Needs to be able to deliver senior leader updates, strategic plans and hold other accountable
  • Able to read/understand control reports
  • Directly accountable for maintaining LOB margins (dependent on market conditions and severity of distressed asset)
  • Clear and concise communicator (written and oral)
  • Able to “Diffuse” customer escalations and “sell” improved mortgage terms/conditions
  • Stays up to date on volume of unsaleable assets in pipeline and staffs up as needed to meet demand

Education and/or Experience:

5+ years mortgage experience as a Loan Officer is a MUST

In-depth background working with U/W is a MUST

Understanding of Capital Markets is a MUST

Must be a clear, confident communicator.

Strong Sales Skills

Language Skills:

Ability to effectively present lending terms/conditions to borrowers, corporate leadership and or groups.  Ability to drive mortgage sales cycle to close in clear and concise fashion with common understanding of next steps.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
