SUMMARY:

The First Flyer Underwriting Trainer is responsible for preparing and presenting training materials to First Flyer Underwriter trainees.  The Underwriter Trainer reports to the Credit Training Director.  The First Flyer Underwriter Trainer will collaborate closely with the Credit Training Director and VP Credit Risk in the development, planning and delivery of training.  Training will encompass a variety of topics including, core curriculum that applies to the overall mortgage process and role based training for Processing and Underwriting Conventional loan files.

We provide classroom instruction, direct exposure to real loan cases and junior underwriting experience working with seasoned veterans – leading to an underwriting role within a year based on performance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Present training courses in both live and on-line environments.
  • Evaluate participant to ensure the subject material is conveyed in an effective manner.
  • Work with team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties in the organization.
  • Identify employee developmental/training needs and develop programs/initiatives to meet those needs to enhance performance, morale, and corporate loyalty throughout the organization while reflecting the organization’s core values.
  • Act as a liaison between all departments to ensure consistency with practices, manage scheduling of programs.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to training and development.
  • Other Related Duties: Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:  supervision of the group being training is required
  • Location and Travel: Will be located in our Marlton office – local employee is required, Travel < 10% and would only be required for special events or conferences. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual should be even tempered and detail oriented, Mentoring and communication skills are imperative to communicate at all levels.

 The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Must have conventional mortgage underwriting experience; minimum 5 years
  • Prior training or mentoring experience preferred but not required

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree from a Four (4) year College or University; or one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
