Position Description:

The Business Analyst is responsible for the creation of control and illogical reporting including validation of the data and management of tasks resulting from exceptions found in the reporting.  The Business Analyst will address issues, conduct root cause analysis and execute on plans for resolution of data discrepancies.  The BA will conducts reviews of loan boarding data, perform system corrections, gathers data for audits and responds to inquiries from agencies and other departments. 

The  Business Analyst provides data and analytical support to the Data Integrity/Loan Boarding team, various lines of business and Senior Leadership. The Business Analyst will evaluate processes and data for best practice to ensure a high level of data integrity. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop reports, interrogate data to ensure accuracy and take action to resolve exceptions.
  • Responsible for working with other business units to ensure accuracy of data reported
  • Conduct testing as related to new initiatives, code crosses and enhancements
  • Provide analytical support in reviewing various control and illogical reports
  • Apply math skills to analyze data or create dashboards and summary reporting
  • Establish and foster a work culture at all levels which fosters a work culture that is positive, collaborative, respectful, optimistic, and capable of driving long term operational sustainability.
  • Work with management to develop and implement new or revised processes and procedures to realize efficiencies.
  • Evaluate processes and create reporting that will ensure processes are working as expected
  • Data evaluation using Excel tools
  • Origination experience is a plus.
  • Strong skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Excel formulas and other Excel functions)
  • Skilled in criteria building and report creation.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Familiar with MERS is helpful

Education and/or Experience:

  • Five plus years mortgage servicing experience (across multiple departments is desired).
  • Origination experience is a plus.
  • Strong skills in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Excel formulas and other Excel functions)
  • Skilled in criteria building and report creation.
  • Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
  • Excellent critical thinking & problem solving
  • Fast learner, able to embrace new ideas and thrive in a fast-paced environment

 

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, government & Investor regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients & customers.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Basic mathematical skills
 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
