Kim Clay - Learning Specialist, Servicing (Operational Excellence)

Kim has always enjoyed learning and teaching others, so she fits in perfectly as a Learning Specialist here at Freedom. Her core responsibility is helping new hires in our Servicing department learn their day-to-day tasks and systems associated with their role. Kim also helps train them on policy and procedural changes that may affect their daily responsibilities. The learning doesn’t stop for Kim either; she periodically cross-trains with her teammates to sharpen her own skills as a trainer and to ensure she’s ready for any new training opportunities.
“Each day I get to wake up and help others be great at what they do. That is everything to me. Training virtually has been a challenge. Not being able to be with people, walk around giving hands-on assistance, surprise my class with breakfasts, throw them a special graduation party, etc. But getting to learn how to take an alternate approach to training is also a great skill I’ve added to my toolbox.”
Kim has been in the mortgage industry since 2000 admits that Freedom is by far the best company she has worked for.

Outside of work, Kim is passionate about giving back, particularly to youth in low-income communities. Kim herself grew up in a low-income neighborhood and has never forgotten the help she received as a youth. You’ll find Kim volunteering at local schools hosting workshops where she provides training on career building, professionalism, and leadership.
