Freedom Mortgage Attended the 2021 MBA Annual Convention and Expo in San Diego, CA
The MBA Annual Convention is the nation’s largest gathering of real estate finance professionals. After two years apart due to the pandemic, we were thrilled to be TOGETHER AGAIN - in person - at the industry event of the year. The warm weather of San Diego was the perfect place to reconnect and recharge toward a brighter future for our industry. Over 4,000 mortgage industry leaders were present at the 2021 conference, including over 40 Freedom Mortgage employees and executives.
Freedom Mortgage was a Premiere Sponsor of the Opening General Session: ‘What’s Your Legacy?’ featuring Brad Meltzer, New York Times Bestselling Author, Host of Brad Meltzer's Lost History H2 and, Brad Meltzer's Decoded on the History Channel.
“The annual MBA conference is an incubator for strategic conversations with the industry’s top minds,” said David Sheeler, President of Residential Servicing and Executive Vice President of Correspondent Lending at Freedom Mortgage. “At Freedom Mortgage, we strive to continuously learn so we can lead our people to help consumers achieve their dreams of homeownership and help customers in these challenging times stay in their homes. The MBA event is a way to find cutting-edge solutions and network with peers, innovators, and experts.”
Throughout the conference, over 150 meetings were held where executives and clients reconnected in-person on the 32nd floor of the Manchester Grand Hyatt, overlooking the San Diego Bay. Freedom Mortgage had a large booth at the expo. There they engaged with customers and prospective clients—and promoted the Freedom Mortgage networking event and charity.
Freedom Mortgage hosted a networking event and a concert on the USS Midway, a historical naval aircraft carrier museum, attended by nearly 2,000 clients and military special guests, stationed in the area. The concert featured GRAMMY® award winning, international superstar, Pitbull. The event allowed participants to safely reconnect outdoors, in person and raised $7,725 for Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans nationwide, to enable them to rebuild their lives. This spectacular event ended with an unforgettable fireworks display.
The conference was a success for everyone involved, and we look forward to next year’s MBA Annual Convention in Nashville, TN.
