MBA Leadership Development Program Reflections with Chris T.
Chris T. joined Freedom Mortgage in the summer of 2020 as a Management Associate in the Leadership Development Program (LDP). The Leadership Development Program is a full time, two-year program designed to develop future business leaders at Freedom Mortgage. The program is segmented into distinct tracks whereby the participants have the ability to explore various job functions within their track while leading improvement in the organization. Participants take on challenging initiatives that drive significant business impact with the support of coaching and mentorship, along with a variety of developmental activities and continuous networking.
"This was a very exciting opportunity as the LDP was a new program to Freedom Mortgage," said Chris. "Despite the program being launched during the pandemic, the entire experience stood up extremely well. While many elements were being designed as we were navigating through it, it was exciting, as we were part of something innovative and instrumental."

Freedom Mortgage was scaling at an incredible rate, and senior management was interested in developing generalists with solid business acumen into future Vice Presidents. Chris thought: "A fast-paced organization in growth mode, looking for all-around key players? My kind of place!"
The program is backed by solid mentors and guiding management, curated Learning and Development program, and regular senior leadership involvement. Through these features, Chris learned about engagement and motivation strategies, the six management styles, time management strategies, and learning and retention curves.
The Leadership Development Program has afforded Chris unparalleled exposure and countless leadership opportunities. "Over the last year and a half, I have worked with Centralized Operations, Wholesale, and Human Resources," said Chris. "Through these different business sectors, I have supported the launch of a performance management platform, defined new processes for recovering IT assets, assembled an analyst team to recapture lost revenue, and led the implementation of a new Leadership Develop Program."
"One of the surprising elements of the LDP is the comradery. Our group has been able to collaborate on ideas, challenges, and experiences with one another," Chris continued. "Furthermore, we've been able to connect on each other's distinct working environments, learning about respective business initiatives and projects."
