A Day in the Life: Daniel Golden, Freedom Fast Track™ program

Welcome to a new series, A Day in the Life, where we highlight different Freedom Fast Trackers so you can get a first-hand view of their on-the-job experiences. Freedom Mortgage’s Fast Track™ program is a six to eight-month on-the-job training program for experienced professionals looking to make a career change into the mortgage industry – specifically to become a mortgage sales professional as a Freedom Mortgage licensed Loan Advisor. While many positions require some amount of relevant experience, the Fast Track Program is open to candidates who have several years of professional experience but do not come from a sales or mortgage industry background.

This week we’re featuring Daniel Golden, a Freedom Fast Track™ program member since March 2021. Every day is unique for Daniel, which is part of what keeps him excited and motivated for more. “A typical day here at Freedom could feature any number of things, and in the Freedom Fast Track™ program that’s really cool. Over the past six months, you could have caught me studying for the SAFE exam, doing Loan Advisor prep, or even in my Customer Service rotation. Now that I’m on the floor as a Loan Advisor, every day is different as well, but I’m finding that it helps to create some sense of consistency. At any given time, I could be speaking to a customer, writing up an app, or meeting with my team.”

“I wanted to be a part of this program to make a positive change in my life,” said Daniel. “I was not happy in my previous career and the Freedom Fast Track™ program gave me an opportunity to work with like-minded people who were also changing jobs and were going to be learning right beside me. From the jump, Freedom provided us with every resource to succeed—and that caught my eye from the very beginning.”

The most important thing Daniel has learned as a Freedom Fast Track™ program has been to acclimate himself to the sales industry. “This is the first sales job of my life, so the small tips and pointers that I’ve received from everyone here at Freedom has been invaluable.”

As for what advice he would give to future Freedom Fast Trackers, Daniel advised, “Be a sponge, absorb everything. That’s what I had to do—and am still doing. My coaches and colleagues at Freedom are here for a reason and I have benefited by taking the advice from each and every one of them.”
